The Puppeteers
Linda and Jonathan Sisson bring to
their puppetry a lifetime of experience in education and the arts.
They have been selected
for the Maine
Arts Commission Directory of Artist Educators.
Linda,
a lifelong puppet enthusiast, is
certified as an early childhood educator. She has been a preschool teacher, a
high-school teacher, and an after-school program director. She enjoys the
opportunity to use visual arts, fabric crafts, and singing in her puppetry.
Linda also offers puppetry workshops for students and teachers.
Jonathan, a former professor of English literature and a widely published
playwright, poet, fictionist, essayist, and literary translator, has long been
fascinated by the communicative power of puppets. Dr. Sisson’s first play was
produced at the Loeb Drama Center when he was a student at Harvard, and he now
writes the scripts for the Peregrine Puppets.
Houdini is the only fully animated pup
in the Sisson house. He enjoys traveling with the troupe sometimes.

Linda and Jonathan are founding
members of the Eastport Puppetry Collective and
members of Puppeteers of America
and UNIMA.
